Back in 1979, when Chim-Chiminey Chimney Sweepers began in Southern
Oregon. We arrived at your house in a yellow pick-up truck with a shake roofed
canopy on the back and wore a top hat on every job.
By 1984, the founder, Steve, needed help. Mike was able to juggle a few days a
week of helping Chim-Chiminey with other days of taking care of his young
daughters. It was a good fit and the odd-ball romance and tradition of the
chimney sweep was very appealing. Mike bought the chimney sweep business –
truck, top hat and all.
Over the years, Chimney sweeping grew to a very full time job. Mike attended
every training seminar and certification program he could find. He attended the
Small Business Development Center courses and in 1996 was named
Business of the Year.
That year, 1996, was pivotal. A roof top fall and a broken leg were very
motivating. Mike moved himself from chimney sweeper to manager in the
sweeping business and opened a retail store in Grants Pass: Home Comfort
Hearth & Patio. Not one to sit on his laurels, in 2003 he opened a second store
in Phoenix.

Brian Stivers began working for Chim-Chiminey Sweepers in 2005. He is the face
of the company in your home. Now with many years of experience under his belt
and countless training seminars and workshops to inform his knowledge, Chim-
Chiminey Sweepers strives very hard to serve our customers expertly, honestly
and with integrity. Brian and Mike are certified by the Oregon Chimney Sweeps
Association. Chim-Chiminey Sweepers thanks you, our customers all over the
Rogue Valley, many times over for your business over the years. We hope to
celebrate our 50th year with you as well!
